LENGTH OF UNIT: Three weeks

BROAD GOALS:

Students will become familiar with zoos and the kinds of animals that live in zoos.
Students will become familiar with the jobs of zoo workers.
Students will use technology to enhance learning.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:

Students will learn what a zoo is.
Students will learn the different kinds of animals that live in zoos.
Students will be able to identify zoo animals and tell something about them, such as their natural habitat, their food, any unique facts.
Students will become familiar with the people who work in zoos.

Students will visit the Sasquatch Zoo

EVALUATION

Students will be able to classify animals according to habitat, such as land, sea, water.
Students will make a story web and then write about the zoo and zoo animals.
Students will know the kinds of jobs people have at zoos.

RESULTS

All students participated in the activities of the Unit.
All students participated in the writing activities according to their

developmental level.
