K-2 SCIENCE INITIATIVE

As part of the the District's Science Initiative an AIMS Education Foundation K-2 Workshop is planned for September.

The workshop will focus on Science Inquiry with emphasis in the area of Physical Science.
One teacher from each elementary school (and one extra teacher from selected low and declining proficiency schools) may attend.

Premise: Teachers who attend from high achieving schools will be asked to present a summary workshop at a partner school (low and declining proficiency), soon after the workshop, during one of the early release trainings. The teachers who attended from that school will assist the presenter. Schools with small numbers and close proximity may be combined. A notice will be sent to the Elementary Principals when the date is set and mylearningplan is active.

Proposed dates: Monday, Sept 10; Friday, Sep 14; Monday, Sept 17; or Monday, Sept 24.

Note: It would be ideal if all teachers could attend the original training; however, school-level trainers should be able to deliver good training during the early release time. Remember this is a start.
