At the final Relay for Life meeting, your Ruckel Ambassadors took two trophies: one for Youth Fundraiser and one (the most coveted!) for Spirit Relay. They also garnered a bronze plaque for having raised over $3,000. Trophies will be displayed in the Front Office.
""In honor and tribute to the mother of one of our Ambassadors who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, the Ambassadors formed a Relay for Life Team they called 'Ambassadors For Life'. With the help of another Ambassador parent, the students created decorations and participated in the all night Relay celebration from Friday, May 9 to Saturday,
May 10. The Ambassadors won the spirit trophy by participating in every Relay event all night long! The boys sang the song "Home" at the start of the evening Luminaria.

The Edge Elementary 4th and 5th Grade Tiger Chorus visited the Ruckel Ambassadors during 2nd Period on Friday, May 23. The students all warmed up together, were entertained by the Ambassadors' rendition of "Wade in the Water" and "Stand By Me." All students sang "Why We Sing" together before the Tiger Chorus had to make its exit. The Edge Tiger Chorus is under the direction of Music Specialist Shirley Andrews.
Some of the Dolce girls and a few of the Ram Singer boys were invited to sing at the annual
Evening of the Arts at Plew Elementary on Thursday, April 24.

As part of the Spring Concert preparation, husband and wife
jazz team Michael and Gina Walker, came to work the jazz
standard 'Blue Skies' with the Ambassadors.

Recently, NWFSC Music Department personnel visited two of the Ruckel Middle School Choruses. Pictured above left is Allison Everitt, Professor of Vocal Music at NWFSC, who visited the Ruckel audition girls' group, Chanson, to encourage proper vocal technique through various styles of singing. Earlier this year, the Zebros worked with the Ram Singers, pictured below.

Thank you to Mrs. Joan Freeman for her successful efforts at the Chorus Sweet Sounds event March 11. All Choruses performed selections from the recent Music Performance Assessment, Opus I from NHS entertained, and money was raised for our Ambassadors for Life (Relay for Life) Cancer effort. Thank you also to the many Chorus Parents who helped to chaperon, bake goodies, take tickets, pour coffee, count money, etc. It was a great evening of sweets and sounds!

The scholarship singing quartet, 'The Zebros' from NWFSC came to sing for and work with the Ruckel Third Period Ram Singers Chorus on Tuesday, March 11. The college singers talked about proper singing technique, music theory, and future singing possibilities. Pictured with the Ruckel boys are: Javonte Colema, Sean Royal, Sivu Sclegel, and Donovan Black.

Four Ruckel Choirs performed at the District I Music Performance Assessment
in Milton, Florida on Thursday and Friday, February 27 and 28.
The DOLCE 6th Grade Beginners received the highest rating of Superior;
the AMBASSADORS mixed ensemble and the CHANSON treble ensemble also made straight Superior ratings. The TAPESTRY Beginning/intermediate Girls Ensemble received two Excellent and two Superior ratings. Ruckel Ram Choruses Rock!

Ruckel Choral Director, Michelle Tredway (pictured on the right) was the piano accompanist for the 2014 Florida Middle School All State Treble Chorus, under the direction of Robyn Lana, Cincinnati Children's Choir Conductor (pictured left).

Thirty Ruckel Chorus students participated in the 2013 All County Honor Chorus Concert
at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on Monday, November 4. 
Students performed with other students in Okaloosa County middle school choruses in either
the Middle School Mixed Chorus, conducted by Dr. Ryan Brandau, and the Middle School Treble Chorus, conducted by Mrs. Renee Robinson.

The newest audition chorus is Chanson, which is an all female SSA group. Some of the Chanson singers are shown at left preparing for their winter performances.

Above: Several singers from the Chanson and Ambassador Choirs sang at the Change of Command Ceremony for Lt. Col. Ryan Hall. The ceremony took place at the Eglin Conference Center on Eglin AFB on October 3.

Right: Ruckel Chorus has 21 students registered for three All State Auditions in an attempt to earn spots in one of two prestigious All State 2014 Choruses. So far, all 21 students had passed the first two tests. Pictured are three of the 21 students set to take the last test on October 22.
