Thursday, April 25 – Chorus Members to sing at the Evening of the Arts
at Plew Elementary, 5:40 to 6:10 pm
Saturday, April 27 – Chorus/Band Fun Trip to Shipwreck Island in Panama City.
8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Friday, May 3 – Ambassadors to sing the National Anthem
for a Pensacola Blue Wahoos Baseball game. 3:00 to 10:00 pm.

The Florida Vocal Association congratulates the following choirs, which were selected by their district adjudication panels as Middle School Choirs of Distinction! These 10 choirs from 8 schools – and their directors – will be recognized at this year’s Awards Ceremony at the FVA Summer Conference on Friday, July 26 in Altamonte Springs.

On Monday, March 11, 2019, four Ruckel Choirs performed at the adjudicated Florida Vocal Association Music Performance Assessment. Each of the choirs received
straight 'Superior' ratings from each of the judges.

In addition, the Ambassador Chorus (pictured), was recognized as a Choir of Distinction -- the only middle school choir in the FVA District to earn such a rating title.

Chorus Sight-Reading Club every Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:00 pm.
Open to ALL interested Chorus Students to work on Sight-Singing Skills.

Pop Ensemble Rehearsals are each Monday and Wednesday mornings
from 7:05 to 7:35 am in the Chorus Room

Ruckel Students Excel at FVA Event
Eleven Ruckel 8th Graders participated in a special Florida Vocal Association Vocal event on Saturday, Feb. 2. Each student sang an academic music solo for UWF Professor Dr. Sheila Dunn. All 11 students received a top rating of Superior.

Welcome Mrs. Sarah Dieterich, our new collaborative pianist/ accompanist
for the 2018-2019 School Year.

We will now see Mrs. Dieterich at the piano for our Fall Concert (November 15), our Music Performance Assessment (March 11), and our Spring Concert (date TBD).

Sarah Dieterich is a true northwest Florida local. She grew up in Fort Walton Beach, and studied with Dr. Julia Sublette through high school. She continued her studies at Florida State University with Leonard Mastrogiacomo and Dr. Victoria McArthur, earning her Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy. She has taught privately in Niceville for the last 13 years. She is active in the local Music Teachers National Association chapter and coordinates the Duo Piano recital for Choctaw Bay Music Club. Sarah is the music director at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church. She lives in Niceville with her husband and three children. We are excited for her to join the Ruckel Chorus Family!
