| Marine Service Technology Classroom and practical experience with maintenance, repair, trouble-shooting, removal and reinstallation of marine engines and related equipment on pleasure boats and commercial crafts. The course content will include the following: service, repair and overhaul of two-stroke and four-stroke cycle engines and outboard motors, and service and repair of boating accessories. This will include electrical systems, fuel systems, power transfer systems, ignition systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, drive systems, and boat and trailer rigging. The Marine Service Technology program offers instruction enabling the student to obtain the skills necessary to enter the job market. Training is provided in the following areas:
Specific skills include learning how to service, repair and overhaul two-stroke/four-stroke cycle marine engines and outboard motors. Included in the curriculum are service and repair techniques of boating accessories. The content will also include electrical systems, fuel systems, power transfer systems, ignition systems, cooling, lubrication systems, drive systems, as well as boat and trailer rigging. You can learn the skills required to enter the workplace as a marine technician. Students can earn TWO Yamaha 5 Star certificates and FOUR Bombardier (Johnson-Evinrude) Recreational Products E-ssentials certificates while attending this course. Mercury University 's E-Skills programs are also available. |
