Class of 1976 Reunion

Greetings Alumni of the FWBHS Class of ’76,

We have begun the preparations for our 30th class reunion and we are asking that you please provide us with your contact information as soon as possible so that we may provide you with specific dates, plans and costs.

The initial reunion committee meeting was held on Wednesday, July 27th and a number of suggestions were offered by committee members as to possible dates and events. I can tell you that the committee has tentatively agreed upon Homecoming weekend as the date for the reunion. That means that we are most likely looking at sometime during the latter part of October, 2006. Since the football schedule is not normally set until spring or early summer we may not have a specific date until well into next year.

Event wise, preliminary plans are to attend the Homecoming Pep Rally on the Friday of the game and tour the school either before or after. Anybody who would like to attend the game that night can do so or meet at Hammerhead’s Bar & Grill located at the Baytown Wharf entertainment complex in SanDestin Beach Resort. Although there was no discussion about having a daytime activity for alumni on Saturday the committee did agree to meet at Poppy’s Bar at 5:00 that evening with dinner at Hammerhead’s at 6 or 7 and then dancing at The Famous Door after that, all of which are located at Baytown Wharf. We are also going to look into getting a block of rooms reserved at the Grand Hotel, which is adjacent to the Baytown Wharf complex. The lounge at the Grand Hotel may also factor into either Friday or Saturday evening’s festivities.

Please know that these are very tentative plans only and we are open to suggestions from all of you. After all, this is your reunion too! We wish to make it as convenient to attend as possible as well as inexpensive and, above all, enjoyable!!! We ask that each of you provide your contact information directly to Rory Joy at roryjoy@bellsouth.net. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all!
