FCAT measures student performance on selected benchmarks in reading and mathematics, as defined by the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS). The NGSSS articulate challenging content that Florida students are expected to know and be able to do. Based on a Scale Score, a student achieves one of five possible levels. The Scale Score that a student could achieve in each subject area ranges from 100 to 500. The FCAT levels of proficiencies are:
Level 5 - Performance at this level indicates the highest achievement.

Antioch’s core curriculum is the NGSSS. Students in kindergarten through fifth grades receive daily NGSSS instruction. Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will take the FCAT reading and mathematics tests during the weeks of April 16-27, 2012. Students in 5th grade will also take the Science portion of FCAT. Fourth grade students will also take the FCAT writing test on February 28-March 1, 2012. We thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure that your child masters the NGSSS. We urge you to communicate with your child's teacher on a regular basis. |
